During Your Luxury Vinyl Installation

On installation day, your dedicated team will arrive promptly at the scheduled time. They'll review the project with you and begin preparing the space. To help us ensure a smooth and timely installation, please clear the area of furniture and ensure your family and pets are away from the installation sites for their safety.

After Your Luxury Vinyl Installation

Once your new luxury vinyl flooring is installed, we may recommend staying off it for a short period to allow the materials to settle properly. We also suggest opening a few windows and running a fan to help dissipate any lingering odors from the installation process. Soon, you'll be able to fully enjoy your stunning new floors!

The Keys to Waterproof Luxury Vinyl Installation

The success of a truly waterproof luxury vinyl installation that protects your subfloor and prevents issues like mold and mildew depends on meticulous practices and addressing moisture from the ground up. Here are the keys to waterproof luxury vinyl installation:

  • Subfloor Preparation

Ensure a flat, level subfloor free of dips, humps, and cracks. The subfloor should be thoroughly clean, dry, and free of any debris. Moisture is the enemy, so conduct moisture tests on the subfloor to meet the manufacturer's specific guidelines.

  • Moisture Barrier

For installations over concrete slabs, a vapor barrier is almost always required to prevent moisture from the concrete from reaching and potentially damaging the LVP or promoting mold growth underneath in our humid North Georgia climate.

  • Acclimation

Allow the waterproof LVP planks to acclimate to the room's temperature and humidity for a minimum of 48-72 hours before installation. This prevents expansion or contraction, which can lead to buckling, gapping, or separation of planks.

  • Precise Technique

For click-lock systems, ensure every plank is tightly locked with no visible gaps between seams. Properly stagger end joints, leave the proper expansion gap, and use transition moldings at doorways or where other floor types meet.

  • Maintaining Warranties

Read everything from your manufacturer! Carefully read and follow all of the specific installation instructions, warranty requirements, and maintenance guidelines to preserve your waterproof vinyl warranties.
